The Future of Business: Circular Economy
23 June 2017 from 9:00am to 5:00pm

Inaugural Symposium of the Circular Economy Research Center
Business, management and society are changing at an ever-accelerating pace and require new tools and ideas. This is why we are École des Ponts Business School launched the Circular Economy Research Center. On the 23 of June, we held our first inaugural symposium of the Center that brought representatives from the EU, government officials, academics and activists. We are proud of the work we are doing and aim to remain in the forefront, leading and supporting novel research initiatives. This event introduced Circular Economy as a “resource-full” alternative to the traditional linear “resource-depleting” economic model of produce-consume-waste that allows the economic ecosystem to do ‘more with less’ and transition to sustainable growth that fosters innovative practice and thinking. We also setup the history and current dynamics needed to foster these models on a global and local level.
In addition to this event, the newly opened Circular Economy Research Center (CERC), under the direction of Professor Demetriou, is currently developing dedicated courses, a certificate and an E-MBA specialized in Circular Economy Management as well as Circular Economy training programs, a Circular Economy Live Lab, Journal and Expert Network.
